Cannavigia becomes Watter’s exclusive commercial partner for the European cannabis sector, expanding its compliance offering into critical cultivation infrastructure.

‍

ZURICH, SWITZERLAND, OCTOBER 8, 2026 — Cannavigia, a leading compliance and seed-to-sale software provider for the European cannabis industry, today announced a partnership with Watter BV, a Dutch disinfection company with 18 years of experience and more than 500 clients across agriculture and industrial sectors.

‍

Under the partnership, Cannavigia will become Watter’s exclusive commercial partner for the cannabis sector, making Watter’s on-site water disinfection technology available to licensed cannabis cultivators, manufacturers, and processors through a dedicated industry channel.

‍

The partnership reflects Cannavigia’s broader approach to cannabis compliance. As European operators move toward increasingly structured quality systems under standards such as GACP and EU-GMP, compliance extends beyond documentation and traceability into the operational systems that influence product quality, contamination risk, and process consistency.

‍

Through its work with cultivators across Europe, Cannavigia regularly encounters water management as one of these critical operational areas. The partnership with Watter allows Cannavigia to connect its compliance expertise with a proven infrastructure solution designed to help operators manage water hygiene throughout their facilities.

‍

Watter’s systems generate hypochlorous acid (HOCl) on-site from water, salt, and electricity, helping operators maintain continuous disinfection throughout a facility’s water circuit while keeping operational costs low.

‍

Watter’s technology operates within the applicable European biocidal regulatory framework for relevant product types, including PT2, PT4 and PT5.

"Water management is one of the recurring operational risk areas we see in cultivation facilities, particularly as companies build more mature quality and compliance systems," said Philipp Hagenbach, CEO & Co-Founder, Cannavigia. "For us, compliance has never been limited to software or record-keeping. It is about helping operators build processes that are controlled, traceable, and robust in practice. Watter gives us the opportunity to extend that approach into a critical part of cultivation infrastructure."

‍

Unlike point-treatment technologies such as UV, which disinfect water as it passes through a treatment point but do not provide residual disinfection throughout the wider distribution network, Watter’s approach is designed to maintain active water hygiene within the water circuit.

For cultivation facilities, this can help operators manage challenges associated with microbial contamination, biofilm formation, and waterborne plant-health risks. These factors can affect irrigation systems, process consistency, and overall contamination-control strategies in controlled cultivation environments.

‍

"We have spent 18 years developing and applying this technology in sectors where hygiene is critical," said Alfred Koop, Co-Founder, Watter BV. "Cannabis cultivation has many of the same requirements around process control, consistency, and hygiene. Cannavigia understands both the industry and the compliance environment, which makes them a strong partner for bringing our technology to more cannabis operators across Europe."

‍

Watter already has practical experience applying its water disinfection technology within European cannabis cultivation environments.

Through the partnership, Cannavigia will support cannabis operators in evaluating whether Watter’s technology is suitable for their cultivation and production environments and will serve as the primary commercial point of contact for the European cannabis market.
